Router, made to order!

Post by Alien »

I was wondering if anybody here was familiar with a router that supported the following:

RJ-45 & RJ-11: Support for both broadband, and dial-up ISP routing. Possible auto-sense too -- meaning that if it's unable to sense a broadband connection, it will auto-dial into the backup dial-up ISP once computer 'X' goes to a website. Auto disconnect after 'X' minutes of network inactivity. I know, this option is pushing it, but I'm looking for RJ-11/RJ-45 availability none-the-less. The features are less important.

Print Server: Support for a broad range of USB and/or Parallel printers.

Wireless: Availability for wireless connections, rather desktop or laptop.

4-Port+Switch: Not necessary, but would be a nice addition.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Yeah, several makes had one with dial up for backup, and a print server. But getting wireless also...haven't seen one of those yet. SMC/Assante, although I'm not crazy about that brand, made a few with dial up and print serving. The print servers built into routers are "OK" for light printing jobs, but generally are not reliable for hosting big office class printers that are sent large print jobs.
