Does anyone know of a router that is compatible with the Alcatel USB DSL Modem?
Thanks,
Clint

None that I have seen yet, only routers with USB are LAN USB interfaces, not WAN USB interfaces. I don't believe they'll ever come out with WAN USB routers, since you need to load drivers for USB modems, and, well, how to you feed a router drivers for any old device. I've seen dial up routers with a basic driver library built into their firmware for about a dozen common external modems, but doubt they'll do that for USB modems, since on top of the driver, you have so much CPU overhead for the USB bus.

You can now. This router is built for USB DSL modems
http://www.seg.co.uk/draytek/produc...or2200usb.html. I was just imformed that it only supports the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB. The company is thinking about adding more DSL modems to it's supported list, but has no plans to offer the product in the North America.
And I here you can even find it in the US now.

Thanks for the pointer BC.....gonna keep my eye on that one, as the need sure is there...compatibility on the market will be the key, adding other drivers to it's firmware. I didn't think anyone would dare make a router to support USB because of the wide range of USB modems out there they'll have to include in their firmware driver support.
