Just to see I wanted to test how much of a difference the XP tweaks made on my machine. Not to knock anybody, but after I removed the tweaks my DL speed test on PCPitstop.com was 600 KB faster. Also tried the test on bandwidthplace.com and it was higher.These were the tweaks I had entered.
Any ideas on what the dilio?

What does the tcp/ip analyzer say your settings are? Reason I ask if you are on @home and have their software on your cpu, their proxy server limits your recieve window no matter what you put in your registry, you have to remove their proxy before any settings will change, then you can optimize your connection.

Unscaled Receive Window = 17520
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 700.8 kbps (87.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 280.32 kbps (35.04 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

Time to live left = 118 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

HalfLifer I don't know what you meant by "@home software on a cpu", where I live they install their software on your computer when they install your cable modem, it is a web browser, actually it is just pretty much a skin for IE, but what it does is put their proxy settings on your machine and the settings stay even if you unistall the software, what the settings do is keep your defaultrcvwindow limited to 65536 no matter what you manually change, there is a way of removing the file that limits you, and that is what I was refering to.

HalfLifer was just being sarcastic about your comment regarding @home software on a CPU, as opposed to @home software installed on your computer. I told you before, he just needs a lube job.

CPU means Processor, not computer, so thats where I got the joke from. You guys gotta chill and take a joke.

Actually I just tried your settings right now on my comp and my DL speeds went from 1550 KBPS tp 490 KBPS. Oh well it was worth a shot. I guess I'll just have to keep playing with RWINS?

Try to remove the proxy, in "Internet Options"-->"Connection"-->"Lan-Settings"..
I got a good increase thanks to that.. Try it and use the Analyzer, and see what result you get..
