I've been having recent problems with my Adelphia Powerlink service. I called my local office and they ran a test on my cable modem (RCA DCM235). They said everything looked good, but the modem had re-booted 3 times during the time I was speaking to Adelphia on the phone (he was reading my cable modem log files). The tech said they have to come out and check the cable line. Fine... no problem with that.

Anyway, my question is: Is there a way to look inside the modem for these logs? The techie said that he was reading my cable modem logs and could tell everything happening. I know about the info pages (http://192.168.100.1 and http://192.168.100.1/moreInfo.html), but are there any other internal web pages I can access to see the log files? My old SurfBoard used to have this capability.

I would be interested in this too. I had the same problem as you with the cable modem constantly rebooting. The Cable Co. fixed the problem with the signal and so far so good.

When the internal web pages are read on that RCA modem it WILL REBOOT.

There is no way to defeat this.
So if you're on the phone to the cable company, when they read the web page diagnostics in your RCA modem, it will reboot.

Also anyone on the @home can reboot any RCA 2xx series modem found on the @home network.

I know my RCA IP number, it's very similar to the first 10.xxx.xxx.1 hop in your trace routes.

Just plug 10.xxx.xxx.2, 10.xxx.xxx.3 until you see your modem reboot when the web page for that IP opens.

Just remember that if your Modems IP ends in say 202, then you just rebooted up to 200 rca modems. Nor all IP's will have the RCA diagnostic page, because not everybody will have an RCA 2xx series cable modem.
