I got the funniest phone call yesterday

At least for me anyway. A gentleman from Ameritech calls me up and starts off by asking if my phone service is ok. I say yes, and then he jumps into a sales pitch trying to sell me dsl. I say no (because I work for Comcast - which he doesn't know yet). Then he starts trying to sell me satellite tv. I just bust out laughing. I told the guy, "Sorry, I work for Comcast and get both broadband internet and cable TV for free. Anything you offer me is NOT going to get me to switch."
I could hear the gears grinding in his brain at this point. He couldn't think of anything to say...he finally just asked again if my service was all right, which I told him yes again, and he let me go.
Anyway, it was a good laugh that made my day

I had the exact same experience with AT&T Long Distance. (I work for a competitor). I didn't say anything until after the long sales pitch. I was told how AT&T's service is better than everyone else's (including the company I work for).
I calmly stated that I get a huge discount on L/D already and that as a technician, I have had to work with their techs to resolve complex issues. Needless to say I went into detail about how they are quick to blind call people to sell them something yet slow to respond when their network is causing calls to not get to my customers.
I said no thanks and asked that they take my # off of their list.
She said OK and that was that.
About a month later. Riiing, "Hi this is AT&T" I went OFF on the lady after doing the exact same thing above. I then asked for a manager and made sure that they never dialed my # again.
It was so affective that I have decided to use the same approach for other things (although I may not be in that field).
"Hi would you like to switch to X insurance company?" NO I work for Geico. Take me off your list! *click*
Works like a charm.

I just find it strange that when other people who come back under and new name after being banned, and are behaving and being very respectable in their posts, when found out, they are rebanned.
Now this person comes back under a new name, speaks the very words she always speak, rrjr, drools over her the way he always does, but because everyone has pictures of her so called body nude, then its OK?
Geeze, I guess if StriderFI or a few other post their pictures nude and if someone finds them appealing then they should be allowed to return to Speedguide?
Hell even one of Speedguides Moderaters said a while back in a thread that he had nude pictures of Dianne.
I just think that it is wrong for her to be here because she is banned, others have retuned and prooven that they can play nice on Speedguide, but they are still rebanned.
In the real world people are given a second chance after paying their debt to society, But this is the Internet, damned for life be anyone who makes a mistake.

Chris,
Is there really any harm in it?
Does the flirting bother you any more than the spam?
Was it that she was banned for a tirade?
Other folks have been let back on after being banned.
This is what she likes to do. She likes the attention.
Perhaps the thread hi-jacking aspect is a bit of a nuisance.
funny I find myself posting here.....

I just find it strange in the last few weeks there have been a few who came back after being banned under new names, in a couple of instances these people showed that they were willing to change their ways and were excellent additions to the community under their new names, yet they were rebanned. Yet i see here as you say threadjacking from this member, exactlly as it was before she was banned.
I just think that if RULES, such as the many here at Speedguide are to be enforced, then they should be on all that have been condemmed to the nether-regions of the Internet.

And no, the flirting does not bother me, I have my hands full already thank you very much

It would be the opposite for me cuz we get free local calls and discounts on a lotta phone services through SBC cuz my mom worked for them (now retired) (Ameritech is the SBC company we get it with). Even though I would get a discount on DSL, I still have cable internet

Yeah, they do (at least here in Indy)...we have a reciprocal agreement with them that any of our employees in their areas get comp'ed with free service and their employees that live in our areas get the same...

We have no real proof Venus = M87
if we find proof that venus is; then we will of course ban her
but we don't know, and we don't have proof
we aren't going to ban an innocent person

HAHAHA! I get the same thing from Comcast...and I'm on Comcast!!! I tell them that they need to correlate and merge their databases but they still call asking if I want them for an ISP...what should I tell them next time so that maybe I can get something for free?
