um here is some settings I came across for anyone using Windows 9x/ME , um yeah I found them somewhere..Doesnt matter where just try them out, but keep the RWIN you already have and keep it the same. And dont use this if you are using DSL this is just for cable.

I for this splendid information give full credit to the cablenut team at Broadbandnuts!

Hey calm down this is not going to screw anyone up I have the same setting on three different computers calm down just I ask that poeple only use this if they are using windowsMe and if they want to retain there RWIN preference dont change the DefaultRecieveWindow to the one that is in the pic, keep there own. CALM DOWN

uod2001 was telling the Mods to delete this post for specific reasons which don't need to be mentioned...As in people would try those settings just because of one specific reason and it might harm their system.

cablebumps, Oh I am very well informed of what took place, I am or was not keeping secrets only did not know how settings would react on other systems and OS's, I don't know you, have never mailed you anything and know now for a fact that what I have only works on XP, not even on W2k, much less any 9x system, in fact may harm some systems, we just been through that, no I don't think you have a treat for anyone as mine change daily, and if I thought it was safe for everyone I would be the 1st to post,
I really don't understand any of this except you for some reason thought it a good idea, I don't but do what you want

Norm, don't bite me, yes some of the values are altered but who else has a patch out that has every box, almost every box filled in and is this not for ME users also:

Speed9x - Installer has been fixed and the file size has been decreased. DSL users must edit the values in the advanced section, the defaults are set for Cable modem connections only.

Gord is working on an addition for DSL users.

No you can't bite me, im a girl, anyway I said the settings were altered, but this all had to do with whoever started this post saying he had copy of my adjuster, well I know for a fact that it only works on XP that is why it was not posted before, it will not work on W2k, or ME or 98/SE or 95, may harm them, so I don't understand any of this when it would be copied and who knows what would have happened then, no I don't know him, never mailed him anything

This is sad, but after thinking about it awhile, who would do this, he is already a member, has 3 posts now, so just joined, I never sent him copy of adjuster, it would never work on 9x anyway, I'll leave it up to you to figure out who would do this, I just hope no one's system was hurt

Do some history boys & girls thats the original cablenut 1.0 settings from the original reg file. When buggyman gets back from his vacation he can verify that.
Plus if you look real close on the microsyspro site you can find the reg file as a beta with two settings in it that should not be in it that was being tested a while back..

Jesse23 before he went to win2k had that in WinME and was getting 800KB/sec downloads

If you want a CCS file on that I would be happy to make one up off the original reg file with a Rwin that works better.

Like I said at the beginning thanks cablebumps for bringing back some history..

yep its true in win me I achieved over 800kbytes in Win me. Now in win 2k from the OOL ftp I get 950-1045kbytes. if I had the Terajet modem I would get 1100+

Well now that it is all out in the open, Ill tell everybody what I posted when this came out;

I told cablebumps that he should not have posted that screenie as it was emailed to him from Lobo. I told him not to betray Lobo's confidence in that manner. Well cablebumps then edited the post to not say that Lobo emailed him that. (which come to find out now, Lobo never did anyway) but I didn't know that at that time. So I basically begged him to remove it cause I thought that Lobo would come unglued being that his trust had been betrayed in such a flagrant manner.

I posted 2 pleading and begging posts to remove it.
The third post was a call to a mod to delete it for us so as to spare Lobo some grief and the newbie Cablebumps alot of flak that would surely follow.

So I did what I did to try to avoid another catastrophe. I hate infighting and this was shaping up to be another knock down drag out.

Once his posts were edited as best as he wanted, I deleted my 3 posts, exactly 1 minute befor Lobo posted in that thread.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

uod2001 is fibbing I was up and looking at all the posts as they were happening. I saw uod2001 post to take it off, immediately cablebumps changed it all up to what it is now.

And second I said I would never bring this up but awhile ago when Lobo's XP F***ed up he reverted back to WINME and at that time I posted some good winME tweaks. He emailed me a request fr some good tweaks and I gave him all I could. In reply he gave me that same capture for my adjuster. It was for WINME what he was personally using on windowsMe using those setting. And Lobo you said never to show anyone but to my surprise someone else revealed it all in the prior posts.

LObo I admit I am kinda peeved here I workded hard to earn those values giveing you all the tweaks I knew. And to top it off you are telling everyone that those are for XP and they will definatley will not work on win9x/ME so why did you give me the tweaks then to screw up my system??? I doubt that so why did you, and why are you saying now that they wont even work??? accually I cahnged my mind I am more confused than peeved.

FOr anyones information I reached 700kb/sec with those values in and another noteable change was speed burts at the beginning of a DL remained consistant not dropping down too much beofre my bursts would go from 900kb/sec to 500kb/sec now they go from 950 kb/sec and drop down to around the 700kb/sec mark.

I have no idea what you are talking about, I sent you a copy to try and help you when I was on ME, I never sent one to anyone else nor did I use any tweaks sent to me, what does this have to do with XP setting's

Lobo you sai that those tweaks that you gave to me and supposidly that cablebumps dude would not work they are what you used on xp and definately would not work on win9x/ME computer.

Don't you think this was bound to slip out.. If you look through some of cablenuts real old posts the settings for that are there too..
Do you see me getting pist off because someone is giving a treat. Lets try to keep it friendly I could be pist at Lobo too he was told not to give that out.

I could also be pist that credit wasn't given properly but I aint.
That was copy writed. I can say that cause 95% of the settings are exactly the same.

Lets keep things in perspective.

Yeah you are right I just dont understand the image lobo sent me was exactlt the same as that cablebumps guy. And he is contridicting himself everypost almost first he says that the tweaks cablebumps posted are wrong and would not work for Me then he says that the image he sent me was for windows me I am so confused is there a doctor in the house somewhere???

LObo lets make this thread easy on everyone, post the tweaks you would use the captures and all. The settings you would use for win9x/me then everyone can chill out when they come to this thread. Instead of seeing squabbling they can get something outta it.

Look it works with all 9x not just ME it just seems to get a touch better results in ME if it dosnt work for someone right on 98 there is a fix for that too
