DHCPNACK Error

Post by renman »

I have done some research on the DHCP not acknowledged error that I am getting of late, but not much data on resolution is out there. I am running a CISCO - (NOT a Linksys) wrvs4400N Router, SB6141 modem and only run win 7 pro on everything but the server (win 2008 R2). Problem started between a new ASUS M51 desktop & an HP DV6 laptop, both getting the error. the ASUS said that another computer was using the same IP at one point. I did the most logical thing and set both to static IP. That worked for the ASUS, but after a week or so the HP could not get online again, receiving the DHCPNACK error. To my knowledge, having a static IP makes this impossible. On the off chance of corruption, I redownloaded HP adapter drivers, and everything worked for a week or so again. I have had no more trouble to date with the ASUS. Is my router crapping out or what? I really like this model for its security, but ended of life in 2012. If I were to purchase something comparable from cisco - BTW the RV-325 reviews stink - the cost is about $600-$1000. Is there a way to fix this issue or not?
