So basically we're bout to get cable internet/tv/phone cause well Verizon doesn't seem to be putting FiOS out here and a bit sick of slow upload speeds (not even 1Mbps) and our 7 Mbps download doesn't exactly work out in a bandwidth heavy home. (I stream netflix constantly my father likes to stream music and youtube constantly.)

so anyway we moved into this house back in 1997 and the cable line was cut (we never bothered to connect a new line since we never expected to get cable) we since slabbed all dirt and such over with concrete (except the left side of our house if youre facing it to some extent.) so how would someone go about pulling a new line into our house?

I'm curious bout the details so I know what to look for.

We had satellite TV so I figure the person could use those existing holes if necessary since my father doesn't want to poke anymore holes in the house.

They'll run it in from the street....to where you wish to have it enter the house. Typically into a basement...to where it's distributed throughout the house via a splitter down there. Can have them try to pull through existing holes.

No basement here, was curious as to where the cable will run since everythings covered in concrete where the pre-existing holes are at. So would they just run it over the concrete or would they just have to drill a hole somewhere in the concrete? or perhaps go through the dirt from the other side of the house to the pre-existing holes. So much to figure out... I mostly ask because my father wants to know all the details since he doesn't really want more holes being poked through the house.

The easiest way would be to run it through the dirt, they have ways of going under driveways and such without drilling as well. If your pre-existing cable under the slab is in decent condition (to specs), they can simply tap into it as well.
You should be able to negotiate with the techs that come out on how you want to have it run, if reasonable they'll do it to your liking (short of doing a 360 around your house, lol).

Well last time a cable guy came out here they said they had to grab a new line from the street but they never came back to do it.
well here's a front picture of my house. Basically I have the holes it needs to go through on the right side of the house in the back (from the angle of the picture) and that's all slabbed over. Though the modem will go into an upstairs room so it's almost like doing a 360 around the house. So what's the optimum solution? I'm also getting Charter Phone and TV and one receiver is gonna be in my mothers room so I assume they will need to poke a hole somewhere in her room to draw a cable unless there's something I'm missing in all this.

Well Yesterday was when Charter was supposed to show up but no one ever showed up now they rescheduled for 11/05 and if they dont show up then... well screw em really... I'm not going to wait any longer than that, I'll just assume they dont want my money.

wow,that's messed up customer service ! I would be on the phone going up the "ladder" til I got someone right out,AND a credit or something !
