NBC/WSJ poll: Majority would vote out every member of Congress

Well there is the one thing we agree on.
In a country sharply divided on almost every issue, most Americans agree on one thing: they don’t like Congress, and they would vote to replace every single member -- even their own -- if they had the option.
Fifty-six percent of registered voters say they would vote out every member of Congress if there were a place on the ballot to do so. That’s the highest response in favor of the question since it was first asked in March 2010.
And they say so across the ideological spectrum – with 55 percent of liberals, 55 percent of moderates, and 58% of conservatives all feeling the same way.
“We found the one area in which all people in the country agree,” said Republican pollster Bill McInturff, who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart.
Combine that with Congress continuing to be at near-record lows in approval at 13 percent and all members of Congress are at risk, McInturff said.
But there are also warning signs specifically for Republicans.
More people say the GOP has brought the wrong kind of change (31 percent) in Congress than the right kind (12 percent). That represents a drop for the GOP from a year ago, right after when they took control of the House as a result of the sweeping 2010 elections. In January 2011, 25 percent thought Republicans would bring the right kind of change versus 20 percent who thought they would bring the wrong kind.
Those attitudes are also far worse than right after when Democrats took control of the House in 2006 (42%/15%) and Republicans regained a majority in 1994 (37%/11%).
“People want Congress to get things done, act responsibly and fix the economy,” McInturff said, “and if they don’t,” they could be in trouble. McIntruff added, “These guys are going to be running in a head wind.”

All of Washington needs to be flushed. Not just Congress. Divisions that aren't even government entities need to be flushed as well.

There is a saying that comes to mind...:
If "con" is the opposite of "pro", then congress must be the opposite of progress.

Yeah a "Responsible Congress" but I don't think anyone knows what that may be.

It's us as a people who let them and everyone else get away with it. How many times have you met someone or possibly even yourself said to someone with a government job "That a good job". There seems to be an underlying current of acceptance of the fact that if you get a government job you've got if for life. That for some reason it is a kush job and you won't have to work as hard as someone in the private sector. This has to change.
For example. On TV about a year ago there was an expose' about a city worker who on company time (our tax dollars) was regularly visiting a strip joint. It tooks months and months for the city to even act let alone come to a conclusion. In the private sector... the dispatcher would have asked him to come back to the office under some false pretense and then they would be fired.
Too many public employes (City/State/National) get away with murder. They get enormous salaries and are then entrenched for life. Boot 'em all and start over again. Rewrite the rules and enforce them with a Zero Tolerance Policy.

Isn't the problem deeper than Congress and the Government but as I've heard before, "Follow the Money". So no matter who get's in power, or is elected in as replacement's for all the Politicians in Washington, the root problem will still be there and that is corruption OF the government left unchecked. Does anyone honestly believe that you replace the entire government and these problems will vanish over time??? I don't think so.
It would take men and women that are not willing to be corrupted and influenced by their own personal gain.
