Parental control software

With three kids (2 eight year olds and a ten year old) it's time to get some software that keeps them on the straight and narrow. With all the pop-ups and crap you get with a innocent search I need something on their computers.
Can anyone recommend something that works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I guess if it works it's worth the $$!!

Well I guess first off are you wanting to control where they surf online using say IE? Or is this just to control what's also being downloaded or installed on the computer? Sounds like the first one so I would start by adjusting the IE settings for security and so on.

Setup an OpenDNS account and configure it on your router, and setup content filtering. It also provides additional protection from malware.
