Preventing users from uploading a file

Post by Uberwilhelm »

Howdy everyone.

Does anyone know of a way to prevent users from uploading files from a network folder to the internet either with IE or Firefox? I have a folder I need people to still have access to but want to prevent any files from being copied or uploaded to the internet. Thank you.

wow, that one is very hard!

anyway, in my workplace we do like this!
1. every important files was footer marked
- CONFIDENTIAL : GREEN > allow COPY & SHARE (INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)
- CONFIDENTIAL : YELLOW > allow INTERNAL COPY & SHARE but dont SHARE it to EXTERNAL
- CONFIDENTIAL : RED > dont COPY & SHARE (READ Only)
2. we implement "TRUST" to every employee
3. make a RULEz, u BREAK it - get BANNED (we can see every uploaded/downloaded files from Network Monitor Log)

# OS: Windows, Linux # Browser: Blink, Gecko, Presto, Webkit + Squid + Bind

I thought about that but hoped there would be an easier way. What do you use for network monitoring?
