F2 during power on do anything to launch another BIOS screen?
Try removing the AC adapter, removing the battery, and holding down the power button for 15 seconds.

From your post is almost seems like there's a hardware encryption password for the hard drive. Makes me wonder if this is a "hot" laptop someone found and wants to get cleared to they can use/sell it.

If you remove the hard drive and slave it to another PC via an adapter...can you mount it and browse its contents?

remove cover, find battery on the far right hand of the board.. take a _small_ flat screwdriver and contact the two leads from the battery. power on, power off.. bios will be reset. this works for passwords and etc.. resets to default configuration. the battery in acer aspire 5315 is very visible has a blue ring of plastic or rubber around it. follow the leads (very short) and short the circuit.
