I'm looking for a little feedback on a hard drive upgrade I'm considering for my laptop. I have a low end Acer Extensia 5230E that has a WD 160 GB 5400 RPM 8 MB cache. I'm considering an upgrade to a WD 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB cache that newegg has on sale right now. I'm wondering if this upgrade is going to make any noticeable difference. The laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit and when I run the system advisor, I have an overall score of 3.3, with the video being the big letdown. The CPU is a 2.2 Celeron. The current HD score is 5.0 or something close to that.
Like I said, the laptop is low end but it gets the job done for work and I could use the extra space, but I don't know if the $70 for the HD is a good investment or not.
Also, anyone ever us HDClone to copy the contents of one HD to another?
Thanks in advance for your comments!

do yourself a favour and get the 7200rpm drive, especially if you plan on running Windows 7. 5400 is that much slower and the noise issues of the past aren't even really a factor anymore.
As for whether or not you'll see a difference, load times will be slightly faster and will things will generally run smoother.
As for copying / ghost, Acronis Trueimage is pretty good these days.

I picked up one of these to copy the HD:

WD has a free version of Acronis to download, so I'll go with that. I'll let you know how much improvement I see this weekend.
