Anyone use a "rent-a-lens" before?

When I was in the photo pit at an air show last year, a girl next to me had a BIG Canon telephoto IS lens that looked a bit beat up. I asked her how long she had it and she said it was a rental.

What?!?!

Yea, she rented it online. I found a few sites that do it and also some locals places here in the Denver area. Awesome.

Anyone here used that before? It would be cool to pop in somewhere and have every lens available at anytime for special circumstances without having to front the big bucks some of them require.

I've seen a couple places that do that, and contemplated it once or twice, but haven't done it yet...been wanting to try out a big lens just to see what it would be like before I plop down some serious money for it...if you try it out, let us know :)

Yes, I'd like to try out a nice telephoto IS lens someday. No way I could buy one!
