Stone bible

Recently received a few things my mother sent to me from her father, who passed about 28 years ago.
This is a pocket bible that either my great grandfather or great great grandfather carved (it gets muddled). Came over from Europe and found work as a skilled stoned cutter in New York. Helped floor St Augustine Epis. Chapel in New York? (I think that's the right one).
Dropped a *few* times it looks like, but the front and back are perfectly smooth, the top and bottom and side edges are still detailed after ?? years.
Bottle cap is purely for size reference, I can't stand the stuff.
