I know,crazy $$$ :nope: :irate:

also,if you have any problems installing or downloading it,try NOT going through a USB hub,go directly to the first USB connector(rear of pc) ,

I went through that with garmin support.

I got 2 free updates for my Garmin that I purchased for work...but I've found lately that a good cheap few $$ map is more useful.

Well they have to update every street every year, not to mention businesses. Then do it again next year.

2008 Maps I believe it was, I've had this GPS a while, I've always kept the firmware up to date, but I hadn't updated the Maps cause it was expensive, but I decided to just go ahead and do it anyway with the new 2010 Maps. I travel a lot, and this September is gonna be a LOT of travel for me, more than I've ever had in a single month.

depends on the mfgr (pay/free updates).

i predict GPS units, as well as the majority of consumer electronics will adapt the "cheap printer" business model. a 35ppm networkable color laser printer for $125? sure, no prob. but the microchip-enabled color toner buckets are $169ea. recurring mfgr-reliant expenses, ftw!

and itll get worse before it gets better.

The dvd upgrades for some automobiles are particularly expensive.

I just got the Navigon GPS software for the iPhone 3GS. Love it and it was only $69.
