i have a 99 chevy silverado, i was driving down the road and started losing power, when i pressed the pedal it started losing more. When i let off of it, it picked up a little then just cut off.when i tried to crank it, it just spitted a lil and shook. a week later i tried to crank it. it cranked up but when i mashed the gas pedal it would cut off again, if i let it idle, it would idle for about 30 secs and cut off. any suggestions?

I have a 1991 Siverado, and when given it gas, it would bog down. It also idled rough.
Turned out to be the fuel pump

Could start with the fuel filter. I assume by asking this you are going to do it yourself and that is the easiest and cheapest place to start. I also suggest one of those clear bodied replacements just to make it easier to check next time
Than again I think some of these other answers are speaking with more experience, I am just cheap and lazy so I start with the easiest and cheapest
(I guess they may have started putting them in spots that are a PITA to get to though)

Get yourself a FP gauge and then work your way towards checking for spark.
