Ever hear of the Great Depression?Does anyone recall the economic conditions prior to WWII?

Pretty much... Its taken a large war ( larger than what we are currently having) to bring the world out of economic hell which is where we currently are. Its going to happen..just nobody really knows when..could be tomorrow, next week, or next year. Its something you don't want to think about if you have kids that's for sure.blebs wrote:Well umm, yeah as a matter of fact. So are we witnessing history repeating itself?

More than 700.000 phosphorus bombs were dropped on 1.2 million people. One bomb for every 2 people. The temperature in the centre of the city reached 1600 o centigrade. More than 260.000 bodies and residues of bodies were counted. But those who perished in the centre of the city can't be traced. Approximately 500.000 children, women, the elderly, wounded soldiers and the animals of the zoo were slaughtered in one night.http://www.rense.com/general19/flame.htm
There is an argument that WW1 never really settled and WW2 was inevitable.TonyT wrote:Ever hear of the Great Depression?

Just by linking to a site, I hope you do not think I am in agreement with everything contained on the site.David wrote:What happened in Dresden was indeed an atrocity. Thankfully, we have photographs and records to remind us of this barbarity, lest there would those who chose to deny its occurrence.
Interesting, the sources you have been quoting lately, David.
No arguement from me!David wrote:There is an argument that WW1 never really settled and WW2 was inevitable.
Your September 11th thread had a similar source. "Alternative" media outlets have some of their writers with somewhat general perspectives.knightmare wrote:Just by linking to a site, I hope you do not think I am in agreement with everything contained on the site.
Industrialists are the one who profit the most, and like bankers can suffer if on the losing side.TonyT wrote:No arguement from me!
WW1 coincided w/ the world bankers formulating their "one world govt" plans around 1913-14. WW1 failed to bring it about. But they sure did profit from that war. Bankers are the only ones who "win" at war, profiting from all opponents throughout.
Note, by banker I imply the wealtiest men that control coprporations as well as banks and are capable of influencing world conditions & economic trends, and who also formed the Federal Reserve corp, and I don't exclude Rothchilds family.
The real unfortunate is that there are still nazis holding political positions in Germany. They don't refer to themselves as nazi, but there ideals and political views are the same. They're a minority, influential none the less.SeedOfChaos wrote:The sad thing is... it's nothing new. These idiots march a number of times every year. You bet your ass that there are "demonstrations" on April 20th, for example. A lot of other birthdays and "anniversaries" are celebrated regularly by them too. It's not like there ever were no nazis after WWII. At times less outspoken, yes, but inside...
In that context, I do not view this as a result of the current economic crisis but rather an ongoing problem.
Do they represent the mindset of the German people? Hell no, thankfully we're still far from getting there again. This is a minority, but they mustn't be allowed to install a regime of fear and terror (not in the modern sense) again. Unfortunately, the current crisis provides a lot of basis for fear.
There were thousands of corporations & familes that had successful business during WW2 in Germany. After all, the ammo, equipment, steel, food, paper, furniture, etc, had to come from somewhere. These foks were avid supporters of the Nazi party. They got rich as a result. Their children, raised as Nazis are alive & well today. They don't go around preaching neo-Nazi bullshet, but they are "Nazis" none the less. Some are politicians now, but members of the various political parties active in Germany today. The ideals & principles of a culture don't erode to null in just one or two generations. Such cultural diseases endure and take many generations to become extinct. Just as there are many in the "deep south" in the US who hold the same views as their great great great grandparents.SeedOfChaos wrote:Tony, but why are they in power? Germany IS a democracy. Even if they do also hide in the large parties... they do pull voters.
And since voting is a secret (thankfully!), nobody knows how many votes for CDU, SPD etc. really came from those skinhead idiots with bomber jackets like mentioned in the article.
