Older PC games you reccomend.

I recently made a horrible decision to sell my top of the line gaming rig for next to nothing. So now I am stuck on this donated 600mhz celeron w/ 256mb of ram and on board Intel 810 graphics that my ex girlfriend gave me. Using CPUFSB I have it at 800mhz currently.
Was wondering what older PC games that could run on this machine you would recommend. I am currently downloading dungeon siege 1. Used to love that game.
Probably going to upgrade to a slightly newer 3ghz P4 machine soon so I will be able to play better games. We will see though money is tight with the baby. Any help or donations would rock, and I would love u forever. lol

Duke nukem?
Quake 1?
I can't think of games other than those few that I played on a system like that back in the day.. Mechwarrior games may play.

Back in that area, Quake 2, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament. I pretty much just play FPS games so that's all that comes to mind.
Does it have an AGP slot to bump up that video card?

No agp at all.. this board even has a isa riser card with a few pci slots on it.

this sucks... I miss my c2d 3.4ghz game rig. Anyone have an old pci video card they want to get rid of? something better than onboard intel810 crap. I just hope dungeon siege works halfway good on here.

LOL Duke Nukem/Quake/Mechwarrior 2 was in the Pentium 1 and 2 200-233Mhz days.
Joe, with a system like that, grab an emulator and play some NES or Genesis games. lol

Earlier than that even. Duke was around when most had 486 CPUs, I used to play Quake 1 on a Pentium 75.

q3 will run but you will need to get rid of all eye candy and play at 640x480.
I thought I had a radeon 7500 pci but can't seem to find it.

Warcraft 2 & 3, Starcraft, the earlier C&C series titles should run just fine on moderate hardware and provide some fun. For some of them new maps are still being released. Not in bulk, but there's a bit of a scene left.

Make it run using DOSBOX with himem.sys and m?s?d?e?x? with sound on a 64 bit system, than I'm not worthy, ready master.

Fallout, Fallout 2, Civilization 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 2, Birth of the Federation, Diablo, Diablo 2, Baldur's gate, Baldur's gate 2, Doom and Dune.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
But here is a sweet link. Careful pop-ups. For a good NES game try Maniac Mansion.

Also with a Play Station emulator you can just pop PS games in the drive and play them. They sell PS game dirt cheap at pawn shops.

Also if you like roguelike games this one owns.

I recommend Fallout 2 the most. That game just kicks ass.

dell?
Laptop?
ram?
Do you really want to have fun with a labtop?
Know the mobo/Pop the shift keys/insert screwdriver
My labtop has/s 256 MEG of ram.
Double that, and it's a new PC.
Pretty sure I'm Speedguide helping with a desktop
want to run winXP, get yourself over 888
I hear there are aptches for xp with 512mB of ram?
"(c)"
No matter what.
Double the ram without increasing the max volts of the mobo.
Doubles the machine!!!!
