First, let's define hacker, then clarify your question.
hacker

A slang term for a computer enthusiast, i.e., a person who enjoys learning programming languages and computer systems and can often be considered an expert on the subject(s). Among professional programmers, depending on how it used, the term can be either complimentary or derogatory, although it is developing an increasingly derogatory connotation. The pejorative sense of hacker is becoming more prominent largely because the popular press has coopted the term to refer to individuals who gain unauthorized access to computer systems for the purpose of stealing and corrupting data. Hackers, themselves, maintain that the proper term for such individuals is cracker.
crack

To break into a computer system. The term was coined in the mid-80s by hackers who wanted to differentiate themselves from individuals whose sole purpose is to sneak through security systems. Whereas crackers sole aim is to break into secure systems, hackers are more interested in gaining knowledge about computer systems and possibly using this knowledge for playful pranks. Although hackers still argue that there's a big difference between what they do and what crackers do, the mass media has failed to understand the distinction, so the two terms -- hack and crack -- are often used interchangeably.
So...you wannabe a hacker or a cracker?

So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key
Nice Jackson Browne quote!

at work, a "hack" is crappy code used in irritating situations as a "band aid" or quick fix -- that is it's bad and we tend to avoid them. google will help you learn what you need to know but i doubt there's a simple "howto" -- it just doesn't work that way (there's a lot to learn).

Start by focusing upon ONE aspect of computing, such as the Windows Desktop. Learn how to change things...wallpaper, resolutions, etc. Then move on to other system settings such as folder properties and file associations. Then google for "registry tweaks" and learn about the Windows registry. Take up ONE zone at a time and learn it well. Eventually you will wind up knowing a little about a lot, then more about a lot, then a lot about a lot. But the moment you beging altering the default Windows installation you can consider yourself a hacker, a novice hacker, but still, a hacker.

Like all hackers, one of the very first things you will encounter is "breaking things so bad that you must reinstall Windows". This is inevitable if you start hacking! Don't worry about that. When the time comes, you'll read about how to format disks and reinstall the operating system and start all over again.

No one here will help you...

Some of the better hacker info sites have some interesting things you must over come to gain access to the info.

When I find hackers at work, they get walked out the door by security. If you are still intrested... Google is your friend.
