I can still remember the first time I ever heard this album. I can remember the day of week.

I can remember the month and who was with me.

My jaw hit the floor and to this day...it's a favorite.

The Bushmills has little to say in this regard. This album I felt at the time was a new beginning for rock and roll, even though one might really label it as the very first hard electric blues album.

Cassette tape players were first making their debut as mono only affairs. I had the album and recorded it. I would listen to this album at school with earphones at every given chance.

Anyway...this is a landmark album.

I was in high school back in the late 80's when i started to get into LZ...a great album for sure...in fact listening to it right now.

tough choice for me but 'dazed and confused' would prolly be mine.

I was actually alot slower to get into LZ then alot of my friends. Hard Rock music wasn't a huge thing for me in my early childhood days, but I found LZ in my later school years and like alot of people I fell in love with their music.

Oh yeah. Have you heard The Black Crowes with Page "Live at the Greek" ?

Dunno if I posted about it here, WhoNut but that's an interesting story. When Page was asked to join them, he wasn't busy and thought it might be fun.

On his first night rehearsing with them, he was stunned. He figured it would take a few weeks to a month to get some kind of cohesion with the band.

He wasn't aware that they had been rehearsing Zep songs for weeks before he arrived.

That live album demonstrates just that. They were in sync.

I'm wondering how it was recorded though. The shrieking in the audience from what sounds like one banshee that must have been close to one of the mics, just bothers my ears for some reason. It's kinda unnatural sounding.

I started listening to LZ around 71 or 72(13 yo),and then was lucky enough to see them in 77 in Oakland,
