I see that UPS has delivered my new parts today, so I'll have a busy night tonight installing everything. Of course I probably won't get it working until next week this weekend I'll be too busy as this season's SCCA racing gets underway...

I have built plenty of wintel boxes in my days, but this will be my first AMD box.

Anything I should watch out for? Should I not use the self-adhesive on the OEM heatsink that AMD packages with their chip? Should I get some goop? I will NOT be overlocking my 1GHz Athlon-C...

The adhesive seems to do it's job. I wonder if the stock supplied heatsink and fan will be good enough to keep it under 50°C at idle. I doubt you will have any problems though, it wouldn't hurt to get some Artic Silver in lieu of the adhesive just to get it a few degrees cooler.

Do NOT use the tape. get yourself some Artic Silver 2 And a Good Heatsink Alpha pal6035 copper bottom or better yet a solid copper HEDGEHOG and a good High speed fan Deltas are LOUD get a good Sunon you can hear yourself think with them the delta you need ear plugs. Make sure it goes on nice and Level no gap betwen the heatsink and the chip you should be fine.
