Hey - just a quick question.
My verizon service has set me up behind one of their NAT routers...
Does this affect my download/upload speed?
Does this affect my torrenting speed?

You have a router in your home, or a modem/router combo?
Torrents may need ports forwarded but being behind NAT is a good thing.

Depends on what your Verison speed is [FiOS or DSL?], but most likely not. The worst router will have 10 MB ports so speed wise, unless you get more than 10MB it can't be an issue unless the NAT is just broken. It can cause some extra latency, but it is not usually more than 3 or 4 ms in my experience. Is the router has some sort of stateful packet inspection, then you might notice a small speed and larger latency change if this feature is enabled.
