just downloaded the free version but it turned out to be a limited tril version which erases 20 faults only. and i have 1400 fault lol.

do you know of any similar registry cleaner / optimizer that is free and can do the same job but unlimited to a number of errors?

Those 3rd party reg cleaners and de-fraggers and what not...they always over-inflate the errors they find..so that you'll go "Geeze..my computer is a mess...I'd better get this product and fix it".

Don't lose too much sleep over them.

i dont want to make another thread just for the following question:

i ve installed the free version of antiviri and now i have also AVG free version

should i un-install AVG?

usually on the start-up, i am disabling it but when i look in the windows task

manager for the processes running i can see that in the back ground the

avguard and the avgnt are still operating

will this cause any future conflict / problem with my antiviri?

do you recommend that i fully remove AVG?

also what is your recommendation for an anti-spyware software free edition?

AVG is "medium" when it comes to detection ranking...there are a few products out there with much better detection. The alternatives for decent freebie ones are Avast and Antivir. Avast is very heavy though..you'll notice much longer bootup times, and a system slowdown. Antivir is very light...only thing is, sometimes you have to keep an eye on the automatic updating..occasionally kicking it in the butt with a manual one. But it's light, and great in detection.

Yes if you do opt to use a better antivirus program, you'll want to uninstall AVG, you don't want more than 1x AV program running on your system.

For anti ad/spyware, once your system is clean, old Spybot Search and Destroy is still decent..update, immunize...manual updates..and remember each time you update..you need to re-immunize it. Free.

SpywareBlaster is a good free program, protects both IE and Firefox. Manual updating. It's not a scanner program, just protects your browsers. Free.

SuperAntispyware is a top notch program, absolutely great in detection and removal. Free.

For ad/spyware removal...Grisoft (makers of AVG) bought out a great company called Ewido..and used Ewidos program to base AVS off of. It's free. The free trial is fully functional...for something like 2x weeks. So it's a great program to run on a system infested with ad/spyware...run a few scans for a day or two..then uninstall.

Use Firefox or Opera for your web browsing.

I don't bother with registry cleaners anymore. Maybe just on an XP machine, but that's it. I use the one with ccleaner.
