I don't know whats going on but my wireless internet on my computer says acquiring network address all the time. However, the internet is working. Anyone have any idea on what could be causing this?
Thanks,
Rocky

Yep. I can connect and the internet seams to work fine. However, it says status acquiring network address all the time.

- Are you able to see your wireless network (SSID)?
- Is your wireless setup encrypted (WEP, WPA)
- What is the distance between your PC and the Wireless router/AP?
- Is the a red "x" on the wireless network card?
If you have connected in the past, I would delete/remove your previous configuration in the "Preferred Network" list & try again - or setup a config manually..

I had the same problem. This is what worked for me:
Start>Run> services.msc
Find "Wireless Zero Configuration" from the list of services
Double click on it and set startup type to automatic.
Apply the change.
In case you're still unable to acquire the network address, start the service from the same menu as you chaged its start/up type.
Hope this helps you.

I have the same problem, I am getting that acquiring network address over the little computer icon in the task bar. I am on wireless and have set up a static ip with all the ports forwarded needed for bf2 (except for some that the router wouldn't allow me to forward). My game will randomly close (crash) back to desktop. I am wondering if it's related to this "acquiring network address issue" or is this simply a hardware and/or software issue. I wonder because of EA's use of the punkbuster software, if it's causing some sort of internal error. Thanks for any input.

I tried the above response but it was already set to automatic.

manual ip is another soluation this way you have an ip ,and when you do drop it won't take as long since your computer has an address to the network.
