so back to work yesterday, takes me 45 mins to get there, 20 mins to get home. uphill the entire way there except for one little stretch that is flat.

went from never getting out of bed for 3 month's to bike riding 4 miles up hill lol. my legs are killing me. im sure this would be no biggie for some of you but im skinyn and lazy!

I used to walk in the snow, uphill bothways to school.




.....and I got a really good deal on some swampland too if you are interested.

well, i kinda had it uphill both ways, the wind outside is so bad right now it pushes me so its i even have to peddel downhill

Good for you! I'd love to ride my bike to work (20 miles each way) but unfortunately the ride would take me through some of the worst areas in Los Angeles.

I just bought a new bike last week, it's been years since I've ridden. I just started cycling to and from work too (yesterday was the first time in fact). I cycle from home to the train station (5 minutes), then from Montparnasse station in Paris, to the office in the 2nd. It's a nice ride, across the Seine and through Paris. I'm finally getting to see some of the city. My legs feel weak.

yea mine are wobbley when im done and walking feeld odd for a little. Have not done this much work since bikes where my life when i was 14 lol, if only i could/wanted to quit smoking

Good job. You should find that if you can ride to work regularly, you'll build strength quickly. I have a 6.5 mile route to work with about 700' of climbing, and it used to be very difficult and now it's relatively easy.

I rode for many years, 7.2 miles each way, pretty level.

Got the bike out today, rode for the first time since last August.

my urologist wouldn't like it. To hell with him.

I try to do 3,000 per year.

I'm recovering from prostate cancer. The cancer is fine, but I am one of the 1-2% that end up with an obstruction. Imagine being catheterized just once. Now, imagine doing it 3 - 5 times a day for 8 months with no end in sight.

Nothing too fancy. In fact, it was the cheapest adult bike at the shop (a shop branded one called Decathlon triban trial heh.

Congrats on riding! I'm sure it'll make you feel good after the pain subsides.

I live 13.6 miles from work and hope to do some of that this year during the nice seasons. Biking to work in 90F doesn't sound like fun - just like biking in sub-freezing temps in the winter didn't either.

We shall see...

BAGH! PVSSY!! Anyone of my fellow californians that have heard of Stockton would know you don't hang out on south side very late at night...I used to visit family alot in the part of town that has mostly crackheads, dealers, and hookers on the streets after dark...and we'd stay at my cousins house untill around midnight...

That bike looks comfortable. I just did Ironman Arizona Sunday and my arse would be much happier with me right now if I'd had your seat . Nothing wrong with a cheap bike, saves you money and you get a better workout. The number of bikes in the $5000-$12,000 range I saw Sunday was unbelievable, probably over 1500 of them. Cyclists and golfers are really weird about spending way to much $ on equipment.

I love pedal bikes.

Hey bro, i'm with you. I rollerblade to work half the time. Tough but a great way to get into shape.

Yeah, I take my (motorcycle) bike to work most days myself.

You'll get stronger quick, especially your legs.

I've gotten a lil soft from living next to the workplace since then end of december. I usually do a lot of riding from spring to late fall.

yeah, the wind can be lots of fun to contend with sometimes.

yea, i was fired from chuck e chesse, i called out the day before but noone told the manager. files fo runemploymen twhil ei was looking for work. denied, appelead brought in my cell phone bill to show i called, they reversed the decsion. so now i have a job and there sending me a check for back payments. 3 month's of payments at 250 a week

i wont gave 1000 to my dad (works at a dealer ship) to get me a car. he gets them for what the trade in value was, the other 1600 is being helb by him for insurance and license reinstatment fee's so i cant get my driving privalages back

i used to deliver pizza and so i drove alot, had my license for about 8 month's and could not afford to renew my insurance after the 6 month's (was kicked out and forced to live on my own at the time) slick tires and rain cause me to slid into a car that stopped short at a yellow light, 6 month suspension adn sr-22. never had the money to get it back till now. but i did total my car

i didnt drink at the time, just a huge pot head. quit smoking and took up drinking 2 years ago
