Setup and guidance,

I currently setup a machine at home with Windows 2003 Server.
I set it up as my primary DC.

Gave it the name nvc.home

I am trying to create a test network enviroment at home for learning purposes.

I have 2 other machines and I am in the process of adding them to the nvc domain.

How to I create a network where the rules are grabbed from the 2003 server?

Example:
I want to control browsing on the other 2 machines or printing ect..

My other question is, I also want to install exchange 2003 just for my home use, can this work locally using the nvc.home domian to send email among one another?

Making sure DNS is correct, and workstations are logging into the domain properly, will allow you to control the workstations better.

Regarding your Exchange question...I've gotten mine working from home using dynamic-dns services. A few years ago it would have been fine. However...more and more these days, mail servers are rejecting mail from servers which do not pass "reverse DNS" tests...in their battle to control spam. I can always receive e-mails..but getting others to always receive mine (from my test box at home)...it's getting to be less than 50% lately.

However..you can find a smart host and do SMTP forwarding to a legit server.
