Hi,
I've been having trouble finding some info telling me exactly what ATI crossfile is vs nvidia's GX2 cards (SLI but with one PCI slot)
Is crossfire the same thing? Do I need two crossfire cards to get the same technical setup as the Nvidia GX2 cards.
Particually these cards are in question;

You need one master and one slave.Master is always called Crossfire edition video card and almost impossible to buy from canadian retail stores.
Slave is called crossfire ready.Master card comes with cable, thats how you connect them together.
Here are some pics from X1950 family so you have idea how do they looks.

"AHHHHHHH I see..." said the blind man!
Guess that drives the price up pretty high then. $1000 for a crossfire setup.
Makes the nvidia GX2 setup pretty attractive as its around $550 CAD.
Thanks again,
Nick

Good to see ya posting again Yikes!!!!
The 7950 GX2 is a pretty good card, in some cases sli and crossfire will beat it out, but it holds its own. If your shopping around for a new card now, I'd hold off to see what the new G80 chip is liek from nvidia, its not long till we hear more about it.

Hey Yard, its been awhile... I'll try and post up a little more here and add my two cents
As for my dissapearance.... time and iterest in my home PC has gone down the pooper over the past two years.
Im working on building a HTPC for the HDTV so I figured I'd post up for some Video Card info.
Waiting for the G80 sounds like a good idea right now. im assuming ETA is a few months?
