Very fast one if you are downloading a lot but during rush hours you can expect your speeds drop by 80%.Their high speed Xtreme-I package is 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up.I'm never able to hit 10mbps or even 7mbps and i dont live in highly populated area.My download is 550kb/s and upload 120kb/s but like i said before, during rush hours the download speed drops by 80%.Also their cable TV sucks,no eastern feeds, and only a few HD channels compared to Bell Express VU.

Your not kidding, I'm trying to find a way to get Shaw held responsible for this mess, I get 10Mbps, but at 1am to 12noon, then I get what you said: 80-90% less.
It's been 2 months now and no fix.
I've had 4 service calls and nothing is wrong on my end.
I have a tech to come out tomorrow and he better fix this or I am not paying for it, plain and simple.

Here's my speed, it really piss's me off

I switched from shaw long ago cause they were blocking my downloads from bittorrent clients plus other downloads very slow. Now I have Telus enhanced high speed DSL. They are great, don't block downloads bittorent clients and I would NEVER GO BACK TO SHAW.
Thank you Telus for not being the internet cops that shaw are.

If your in Vancouver or burnaby check for NOVUS. Canadas BEST ISP. Fios connections 5 ping to seattle over shaws 15-20 10mbs up/down instead of shaws 10/1. Epic tech support/internetrouting. Cheaper by about 5$ compared to any plan matching its speeds. You would be truely dumb to not get this IF its available in your area.
They are ONLY in Vancouver, highly populated areas. No intentions moving to lower mainland at all.Solace wrote:If your in Vancouver or burnaby check for NOVUS. Canadas BEST ISP. Customer service
OK, here is my horrendous Shaw customer service experience. I called Shaw because my newly installed PVR was not working. To their credit, the problem was on my end and turned out to be a wiggle the wire solution. The issue is that I had to wait over 3 hours on hold to talk to someone who told me to wiggle the wire on my splitter. Yes, I know Shaw is busier than they predicted, but that is not my fault. I should not have to subsidize their business decisions, especially since by my calculations, they could make over 1 billion dollars this year. Being outraged, I asked for compensation for my time. This is where Shaw should have tossed me a coupon or something and sent me away happy, or at least less angry. They basically offered nothing with the exception of the tech’s personal email for future issues. He even refused to escalate my call and let me talk to a supervisor. When I talked to billing, the customer service representative said that they do not compensate for abnormal wait times, but did offer me a portion of my bill as a credit. Now this is where it gets rather funny. She explained the formula for the credit: at $89 a month, divided by 30 days and again divided by a further 24 for a hourly rate times 3, she arrived at a credit of 37 cents. Thanks Shaw, but no thanks. So much for keeping customers happy.
