Since symantec bought out sygate i am looking for a new firewall and would like suggestions. this is my situation. I am a truck driver and connect to the net useing mostly WI-FI connections at truck stops. Sometimes i do use a snapdialer software with my cellphone and rarely when i am at home i use my cable internet. I need something that will provide good protection useing all of the above mentioned connection types I use. Thankyou for your time.

For money, Kaspersky Internet Security 6, it will be finalized in the next few weeks and it's second tonone.
For free, Kerio 2.1.5, works awesome and uses next to no resources. You can find it on my site
DrTweak.

Thank you mnosteele52. I am testing it out now. So far so good. I really hated giving up sygate. But since Norton bought it I figured there would not be any updates for it any longer.

If you're using XP, and only concerned with outbound ==> in, then the one built into XP is actually good for that.
Another good freebie, one of the lightest out there, Ghostwall.

hey steele do you have any suggestions on how kerio should be set up? should I block low level priority stuff under NIPS AND HIPS sections?
