Went to court yesterday to pay an outstanding warrent (bench warrent) for $956. This has been hanging over my head since 1/29/01
That's right, almost 5 years. Well, at least it's taken care of now and I can offically say I have nothing to be worried about when it comes to the law.
Judge looked at me and was like "humm, 5 years. Pay the fine in cash and I'll waive everything else, no probation, and this case is dismissed"
"Cased dismissed", music to my ears. Man, I'm just trying to get my life in order, especially since I have a kid on the way. This was one of many steps I need to do. Just glad it's over and done with.
I'll be watching you boy.

If you had made it five years wouldn't it have been dismissed? I have a buddy who would have got a DUI or driving with an open container, but he left the state for five years and it just disapperaed.
Not sure how it works when you actually owe moeny though.
Plus it feels good to take care of it properly rather than just scamming the system

i know a bench warrant (None felony) is good for 7 years in MI But i doubt owing fines ect go away.
But again its pointless when a person owing moneys to the state of MI can sit in jail for X amount of days as time served for the fines..
