hey I have my hdtv right next to me and decided to try it out everything worked fine but picture was all jittery when I uped it higher than the resolution of 800x600 is there a way this can be fixed? i have a
mitsubishi dlp television. it's max resolution is up there around 1920 x XXX but seems not really all that clear and shakes a lil.

ru trying it on your monitor ?
if so u need dvi or hdmi cable ...depends
also what kind of setup u got there,what receiver etc

or from pc to your tv ?
if so it depends on the file,if its some xvid there is no way u can get it higher,u will need HD file or HR.HDTV and dvi/hdmi cable of course to connect it into your videocard to TV

I have a 52 inch Mitsubishi DLP HDTV television right beside my computer and it has a DVI port right in the back of it I tested it with a dvi cable from my 7800gtx to the tv and anything equal to or lower of 800x600 was jittery but was visable. I simply switched inputs on the tv and saw the desktop. I currently have no reciever hooked up to it but plan on putting one if u were asking about what hd receiver it's cablevision. It's currently set for tv @ 1080i

every newer TV is equiped with DLP (digital light processing).
It makes little difference but ...it adds color ... but anyway thats different topic
you just wanna use your tv as a monitor.To be honest i never did it by myself,i was only watching captured HD movies/shows from pc on my TV.It have something to do with codecs,maybe zooner or hell_yes can answer your question better.My sugestion would be newer drivers.I know from my own experience i have same problem but it never bothered me since when i start watching movie i get the expected quality.I will ask my friend he knows better and will let you know tomorrow.


EDIT:I'm surpriced it has DVI port and not HDMI since its new standard now.But i guess it depends on manufacturer.

well - your tv set can only display a few modes successfully,and the refresh rate is important.
so you might want to check - is it 800 x 600 @ 72hz refresh? or 60hz?
sometimes special timings are needed (thats what the program powerstrip is for),you might try setting the video card to 720p which is 1280 x 720 @ 59.94 .The next higher that the tv will do is probably 1920 x 1080i - and interlaced looks really bad,maybe thats the shimmer you're seeing on the set right now.

it's at 60hz and doesn't allow me to change it =(
