ok, so at my work we are having problems with a brand new computer that we purchased. in the morning the thing will not completly power up. the fan will go, but that is it. i think it may be the power supply. but i am not sure if that may be the case, any other ideas on waht it may be?

I think you need to post more information here..so you can get some help ...you have come to the right place to ask however :) If this thread is not moved..try the hardware or the software forum...and don't quit!! :) Welcome to speedguide!! :)

I'd say thats a good guess that the PSU is out from what I read that you posted.

A power supply tester only costs about $10-15 and will take out a lot of the guesswork. It's a worthwhile investment for anyone who's at least somewhat computer savvy.

If it's new, look for cards or connections that may have come loose in shipping. Take the cover off and give it good physical check first.
