I am a relative “Newbie” to this issue.
I have Comcast High Speed Internet and connect with a
Motorola Surfboard Modem.
D-Link Router model DI-524 with 2 D-Link adapters:
1.) G-120 811.G - 2.) G-122 811.G adapters.
Want to enable increased security while on the Internet.
Running Zone Alarm, Norton SystemWorks Premier w/ Anti-Virus and
Sunbelt Software CounterSpy.
Should I envoke WEP or WPA.
What are the advantages to each of these modes ?
What steps would I need to undertake to accomplish this ?

WPA is newer, more secure, and on top of that...easier to setup.

WEP is old news, quite easily cracked these days, and more of a pain to setup.

I just recently installed WPA with linksys and IMO not only much more secure but does not slow down connection like WEP did.

WPA is much better than WEP as YOSC and Ghosthunter have already stated. It also has the ability to use different authentication methods, which WEP does not. The most common for home or small office people is WPA-PSK which mean Pre-shared Key. I strongly recommend using a passphrase or a very long random set of characters 24 or more for your key.
