which one is a more reliable speedtest

when using dsl reports speedtest, how come i get different values from west coast and east coast. which one is more accurate. does it depend on which coast is closer. which do you all consider more reliable. msn. com speedtest or dslreports speedtest, anymore test sites out there? thanks guys

West Coast is generally more reliable for me.. you can try verizons bandwith test on their site (I use this to test my patches)http://www.ba-hss.com/ I know this site supports 500KB+/sec..

Results depend on how far away u are form the server, how u r routed to the server, how good ur connection is at the moment and the amount of bandwidth that the server has.

Another good test site is www.2wire.com. Also, just try d/ling from a fast corporate site, such as 3dfx.com.

Most reliable speed test is going to a fast site and download a big file like 100MB+
You should get a good sense of how fast you're connection is www.happypuppy.com
Woohoo!!! Still dling at 800KB to 900KB all day
You might also want to get a program called Go!zilla, when you download something it will test out alot of sites and list the fastest ones at the top for you to download
There are other similar programs but i like Go!zilla the best
