Okay here's my situation. I have 2 computers and a playstation 2 hooked up to my router. Computer 1 is originally windows xp (dell), and computer 2 is originally windows 2000 (HP) but now has windows xp on it. My dell and my ps2 were originally hooked up to the router and everything worked perfectly. Now when I tried to hook up my HP the internet works, but it slows everything on the network down tremendously. I mean limiting everything on the network to 5kbps speed at max. But when I unplug the HP, everything seems to be normal again.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It's been really bugging me lately. Oh and the HP the internet used to not work on it. When it did work the speed on it was pretty fast and normal (about a year ago). After it messed up, I applied WINSOCKFIX-XP to it and so now the internet works again. I just have this serious speed problem with it. It's like it's draining everything on the network down with it.

Make sure there's nothing absorbing your outbound connection on the HP system.

Download Spybot, Ad-aware, and Spywareblaster. Scan for spyware. I think its a spyware problem.

yeah I agree.. sounds as if when you hook up that HP its got something on it sucking up major bandwidth.. major activity usage... Ad-aware would be good to use right about now :)
