Very fun, grouping is not a necessity, I've had ZERO problems logging in or with connection dropping or lag. I'm a Level 9 Dwarf Paladin and already found some sweet items from random loot drops.

I still haven't figured out skill paths, etc., but it's very entertaining so far.

Graphics are more "cartoonish" than other similar games, but I actually enjoy them, lends a real fantasy feel to everything. With a low-level of AA enabled, everything looks great

I've heard they are going to be adding PvP areas into the normal servers.
I hope they do and I can't wait.

You guys are all low level..wait till you get to 50+ in about a month...and if you picked a newer server you should be ok techwise, but there are plenty of people having problems on 20 different servers or so

they are adding something called battlegrounds, but i would not expect to see that for at least a few months, probably second half of 2005

I have no interest in PvP, I'm glad it's all voluntary.

Nah, I just don't care for PvP.

My only "great" battle so far has been taking on five Wendigos at the same time by myself, which I barely survived (buffed out the wazoo), and then some jackass came up and started looting the corpses. It ALMOST made me challenge him to PvP, but I just let it go and continued with the quest.

You picked the wrong game if you dont like PVP..LOL the whole entire end game is about PVP

That is the only thing WoW has over EQ2...though I will say at this point PVP is kind of lame, because there is no motivitation really for it except to grief.

But I don't HAVE to worry about moving in an area and that some dickbag will be able to kill me at random.

You can be killed everywhere, even in town but you will loose aura (something like it was in UO)
Your character is never gonna be gimped you can compelety change skills/professions anytime + no more xp camping.

Can you change servers?

No you cannot change servers with same character have to start new char...best bet is start over..really only takes a few hours to get to level 20 once know the game.

As far as UO being the best...it was the best until EA took over and destroyed that game.

Can't change servers...you have 50 characters to spread around any of the servers you feel like.

I've been playing since December:

Stormweaver: (Alliance guild: Dissidents) Built all classes of Night Elves level 15 and under. Will go back to this server once our Horde guild is set.

Gorefiend: (Horde guild: Dissidents) Built a Level 30 Tauren Shaman w/Skinning and Leather working both maxed to do Artisan skills. Currently working on a Level 14 Female hunter in the past 3 days w/Enchanting and Tailoring upto Expert levels now. We are still recruiting members on this server.

I am satisfied with this game and very addicted, don't mind the cartoonish look and it really isn't all that bad. On both side we also run TS.

Yeah, you can change servers or what they call "Realms". You can't have Alliance and Horde characters on the same server though, on "PvP" servers anyway, that is. And if you change Realms you do start from day 1.

I've been totally addicted to WoW since Dec 30th, when I got it. I'm on Burning Legion with a lvl 41 Dwarven Hunter right now, but I'll switch to a German server once the game comes out over here on Feb 11th.

After playing this game very intensely for over a month, the balancing in PVP is a joke. Rogues and Paladins are waaaaay overpowered in PVP, while especially the warrior and partially the hunter as well are at a bad disadvantage. The warrior just doesn't deal as much damage as the other classes, which is a joke, even a priest is better for PVP if played correctly.

Rogues are a joke, their daggers deal as much damage as a warrior's large bladed axe, plus they can put poison on it, and turn invisible to backstab you for crit damage... they always get the first strike, stun you, and before you realize what's up and can actually move again, you've already lost the fight, because you're at half health, have almost enough poison in you to kill you (unless you're dwarf with Stoneform to cure the poison), can't move fast, and are still under full backstabbing assault. To top this off, the rogue has like 4 different escape special moves. Including having a chance olf 75% to parry or evade melee attacks for 15 secs, or some cheat like that. :D

The hunter's at a bad disadvantage, because he's a lvl 1 critter in melee, and he has a 8 yard min range for ranged attack. The only class with this bad limitation, mages, warlocks, druids, shamans, priest, all of their ranged attack is also doable at 0 yards. Why can't I shoot a gun at point blank?!?!? The problem is, that the hunter relies on his pet to keep enemies at a distance (growl=threat=mob taunt), to stay with in the 8-35 yard range (later 8-41 yds), so he can keep shooting, which is his only way to do real damage. However, in PVP the pet is usually completely disregarded (since threat doesn't affect players, the pet is utterly useless in PVP, execept for a small amount of damage), players run up to the hunter, slow him, and automatically win the fight, because the hunter is helpless in melee range.

Other than that, there are currently waaaay too many idiots out there, seeing you fight a mob, wait until you're @ 10% health and then finish you right after you finish the mob... and even without getting any sort of reward right now. So PVP is a joke right now, as it's totally unbalanced like I've shown above, but it will be awesome once it's properly in place. I just wish there were a way for now to disable PVP in contested territories at least, like in your home territories.

Aside from all the complaining, I've had some awesome PVP battles, but usually only when some cretin about 10 lvls above me and my friends decided a 1 vs 3 would be okay with 10 lvls difference... hehehe (hunter at distance=MASSIVE damage, crits >1000). Good adrenalin rushes.

I'm switching over to WoW with most of my Enemy Territory clan mates, and also with a friend's quite powerful Dark Age of Camelot guild (Eternal Fury, the name might ring a bell for DAoC players), so hopefully we'll be advancing on German servers really quickly, which then helps the problem of constantly getting ganked by Horde 20 lvls+ above you. Furthermore, I'll be playing a paladin until the PVP gets fixed, simply I wanted to to begin with, before I realized how overpowered he is ATM. Well, hunter was my first choice in the US version because one of my friends was already playing a healer on that server, and we knew we'd just be using up our first month of gametime before switching servers. Knowing that he's very strong right now is not really a deterrent, but I fully expect him to get nerfed soon.

He must get nerfed soon, because in PVP he's basically unkillable unless there's a 4+ level difference involved. Pala's can tank waaay better than warriors, buff as good or better than priest (armor buff, life buff, damage buff, attack speed buff, resistance buff, you name it, the pala's got it), and also can heal themselves in combat, though not as good as a priest or druid. Well, those that get to lvl 60 first will be the ones hauling in tons of cash from rare items found on the way, so IMO that's the most useful class to play for now. Oh, and the Pala has another cheat: he gets his first mount for free, which is a 90 G value at level 40, an incredible amount of cash he saves versus the other classes. Same for Warlock btw, plus his Felsteed is the coolest mount in the game, by FAR (burning hooves, nostrils, eyes)! This amount of cash you save on a mount will get you, depending on your choice and skills as trader, up to 6 blue rare magical items, or 1-3 purple epic items, which gets you an enormous increase in power.

Happy huntin'! :)
