I figured out how to make another jack but i have another question. Upstairs i have my modem and router etc. I want to install an ethernet jack from there and install 2 lines in the basement off that one line. So that i can have two simotaneous connections hooked up to my modem. But is that possible to split one ethernet jack into 2?

Aagiants im assuming you have a home router like a linksys or dlink etc... if so they actaully 90% of the time will have a switch built in so you wont need a hub.

You will just need independant connections off the switch/router to each location where you would like a jack.

No, you can't connect two PC's directly to the same port on your router. You need to run two lines down or connect a switch or hub at the point where you want to separate the two lines.
