Moving everything from hdd to hdd??

Moving everything from hdd to hdd??

A relative of mines has a 10GB hard drive and is getting a 40GB to replace it, whats the easiest way to transfer all the files and folders he wants from the 10gb hdd to the new 40gb hdd? (Both hdd's will have xp on them)

Hook up the old drive as a slave to the new one and move the files.

You'll have to create a partition on the new drive, and format it as well. If you intend to use it as the OS boot disk, you'll have to set it as an active partition. Some new drives come with software to clone one drive to another.
Or you can use Norton Ghost, Acronis True Image, or similar type drive cloning apps.
