Your kidding? They can dictate what you drink just because you work for them? Wow.

You can't drink competitors drinks whilst on the job, for sure (anyone got a link to that pic?) ;)

But there shouldn't be a problem with drinking anything you like in your own free time. Oh and won't the ingredients be listed on the side of the can/bottle? Not the amounts etc, but surely the raw ingredients. I should imagine it would be compulsary to add them.

Sarsaparilla.

Some of you younger folk may not remember, but back in the dark ages, like, 10 years ago, there was a soft drink called Sars. No, not the disease, a soft drink. Sars was short for Sarasaparilla, which if memory serves me correctly is a wild plant with a taste somewhat akin to liquorice. Indeed it's also known as Wild Liquorice.

My consumption of that and subsequent consumption of Dr Pepper was not too far apart. Dr Pepper merely tasted like a weaker and sweeter version of Sars. In my view anyhow, taste is quite subjectice. I'd definitely lean heavily towards the sarsaparilla flavour though :)

I thought that Mr Pibb was Cokes version of Dr Pepper, and Dr Pepper was bottled by Pepsi...

hhhmmmm I did not know this...

http://www.cadburyschweppes.com/EN/Bran ... Beverages/

It's actually not a 'coke' or 'pepsi' product, but it is bottled by them.

A unique blend of fruit flavours, Dr Pepper is the oldest major soft drink in the US and the number one in its category with a 92 per cent share of the entire 'pepper' soft drink sector. Dr Pepper was first made and sold in 1885 in Waco, Texas. The formula, a closely guarded secret, was invented by Charles Alderton, a young pharmacist working for Morrison's drug store.

Bought by Cadbury Schweppes in 1995, Dr Pepper is our biggest soft drink brand and is the principal brand of our US subsidiary, Dr Pepper/Seven Up.

Dr Pepper made with the original recipe (containing cane sugar) can still be purchased at Old Doc's Soda Shop. It is made in Dublin, Texas, at the oldest Dr Pepper bottling plant in existence.
