I have a DLink router now..
somewhere in the Admin pages/Settings..
there should be something called filters
find out the MAC Add. of the NIC of the PC you don't want to have net access and then cut and paste it....you can also deny internet access by IP add, that's a bit easier to go by though..
and if you have DHCP enabled the PC might not always have the same IP

Dude, the DHCP is enabled, but I heard it's good to enable it? Anyway I could disable it, but wouldn't he still have a random internal IP? What if I can't get the MAC address? Is an internal IP good enough?

An IP address may change, a MAC address (physical address) is bonded to your network card which will never change.

So I get down the Physical address and enter it into Mac1. Then I set the direction to outgoing, but how about IP? What should I enter for the IP? Is there anything else that I need to know? Thx

What you enter for the IP address Im not sure about. Check the linksys documentation
http://www.linksys.com .

the ip field looks like if you wanted to block by IP instead of MAC add.
you'd put in a range there such as
192.168.1.100~120
not sure though...

Makes more sense to filter by MAC and not IP - many folks use DHCP so IP addresses can change. A MAC is like a finger print - never changes.

That's what I said four posts ago.

Nm, I got it to work. However, I find it very annoying that someone is able to access the router and reset it and then that computer is able to access the internet again. Is it possible to prevent the router from being "reset" by using that pin to press on the tiny little button? Thx

Not that I know of, unless you get some sort of vault or room that can be locked...to keep the router in.
Is this a troublesome employee at an office that knows enough to reset it with that hard reset button?
