So I got a new job....

This week I started working for a friend-of-a-friend doing general IT support type stuff. It's my first gig doing anything tech or IT related and I must say I'm pretty stoked about it.
My friend Jason is a network installer/technician for AT&T and has known that Ihave been trying to study up and find an "in" in the IT sector for awhile. So he called me the other day and asked if I would be interested in helping him and a friend do some work, basically trying to make sense out of this really ****-eyed network and get things organized and brought up to date. He told me that it would't pay much to start but if I keep up and keep learning stuff that eventually I will make more.
Of course I jumped at the chance so I went in monday for a few hours to help out. I configured and deployed a few clients on the network and switched out a couple of old CRT's for some new LCD's (boy did those people LOVE me when I brought in the spankin' new flat-panels foe 'em!).
Then today I deployed a few more systems, then had to go clean a few virus' off of a machine and then upgradedsome database software (Raiser's Edge and The Financial Edge) and migrated the databases and updated the client deployment upgrade software.
going in again tomorrow to finish updating a few more clients on the network and who knows what else.
So far I'm having a good time and feel like I've already learned a thing or two.The guy I'm working for is really cool and understands that theres still alot for me to learn, however he is okay with that.
It's been quite a while since I've had a regular job, I'm hoping this pans out as it should go along nicely with my Net+ training.

That's great! The money doesn't matter so much as the valuable experience you'll gain! Nice job!

Thanks everyone!

Its been tough, ever since the bust in 99 the film/TV industry here in northern california has been terrible (my previous career). Moving to LA or Vancouver was not an option for me so I've been trying to get a foot in the door somehow. Opportunity finally knocked and I was able to answer the door promptly. :)

Thanks again, I'm really excited.
