Geforce 4 Ti 4800 (Should I buy it?)

I was thinking about buying a ASUS Geforce 4 Ti 4800, i've been looking over video card benchmarks of the ti 4600 and ti 4200 but have'nt seen any on the ti 4800. Am I correct to assume that the Ti 4800 out performs the ti 4200?
And if so out performs these cards?

It does, but not by anything relevant.
If your going to get a Ti then there is a link in classifieds for a msi ti4600 for $122
If I were you I'd get a 9600pro for the same price though.
Radeon 9500 discontinued because?

Yes i've been looking at at a ATI Radeon 9600 pro myself, but why was the Radeon 9500 discontinued?

Some folks say it's "too good" so they discontiued it.
I really don't care since 9500 pro was cheaper than 9600 pro. I got myself a 9500 pro and I couldn't be happier. My old video card, a Gf4 ti4400 burnt out because it's crappy stock fan and they won't rma. *grumbles*
Go ati, you won't regret it.
I can purchase the Radeon 9500 Pro but should I?

Well I'm in a situation where I can purchase the Radeon 9500 Pro but its more expensive than the Radeon 9600 Pro.
Theirs more than a 60 dollar price difference.
What would you do?

If 60 dollars is too much then go 9600 pro since I don't see much difference with it.
But don't take my word for it, I'm no good at this hardware stuff.

Reason why the Radeon 9500 is so expensive is because you can flash the bios on the card to make it a 9700 and it will unlock the pipelines. The 9700 is only 10% or so slower then the Pro.

You should be finding the 9600p for much cheaper than the 9500p was. The 9500 is disco'd, but you can still find it around. Yes it's a bit faster than the 9600p...but not much. The 9500 could be, as mentioned above, soft modded to a 9700...another reason ATI made the 9600 substantially lesser than the 9800...they learned their lesson. Now there's more of a difference tween the top of the line (9800p), and the next series (9600p), than there was before. The 9600p is still a mighty potent card. Refer to my ATI Radeon comparison article I just posted.
