has everyones else been getting these zone alarm true vector engine problems.
the occurence of those errors coincides with just about anytime my rig locks up.....(which may happen once a week or so)
ZA just released a 4.0 version a few days ago and the update didnt even resolve it.
been to the ZA boards and theres a ton of people there talking about the same thing.
just wondering if anyone here found THE CURE........aside from the boot into safe mode and delete all files in c:\windows\internet logs
thanks

Zonealarms been like this for a while, using 2k pro. When I would try to use a newer version, right after login screen/about 15 seconds after login screen appears it would auto-reboot my pc. I'm just sticking with 2.6.357, even though it gives me the errors in the above screenshot I don't see/have any visable problems. Strange..

I wouldn't say it's worse than AOHELL, but I do agree that it's junk. The solution.......... uninstall it and remove the left over junk it leaves behind and install Sygate.

I don't understand why ZoneAlarm is the subject of such vitriol...I've used it for yearly three years now without any problems on any platform.

i been using ZA for years as well........never had any issues with it till i started having my system lock up on me......and every time i rebooted and looked in event viewer.....there was always a list of true vector engine problems.......so i waited till the next release of za (release 4.0 whatever) and the same thing continued, so it was time to look at options.
im all about loyality to a product.....but when they cant make it work right.....then options need to be sought out.
and sygate truly has a kick ass product.......just never took the time to look at it because i was loyal to ZA for so long.
if they would fix ZA true vector and pack in the featrures sygate has.....i might switch back....but itll be at least a year since i bought a liscense from sygate.

The only reason ZA is so poular is because of Gibson Research. It has never been a great product, it's protection is adequate but it has always been a resource hog and slowed your connection down. It has caused more connection problems than any other firewall I know of.
