ATTBI/Comcast merger = higher speeds??

I've just realized that it seems that my cable modem performance has become significantly better recently.
I know this sounds fairly subjective, but judging from performance playing Madonna's 500 bit WMP9 showcase video, it is more better than 2 months ago or so. Now I can watch the entire video without any slowdowns or rebuffering.
I did a speedtest using MSN Internet speed test and got a whopping 6311 kbps

However, numbers from DSLreport speedtests have not even reached 1mbps

Has any other former ATTBI, now Comcast customer who have experienced any changes in performance, good or bad?

Just 1800/256?
When are we going to get those 3xxx numbers from East Coast ISPs?

Actually, I frankly don't know
Neither ATTBI or Comcast told me about my rates and I never thought about picking up the phone to bother the staff either...

Comcast/ATTBI really shafted their customers when they switched everyone to their own networks when the @Home service went belly up. @Home had speeds of 3000/256 but when they switched speeds were cut in half and prices were increased. Then Comcast rolled out their 3500/384 package for $90. A little better speed but at twice the price of the old @home network.

I was lucky that I had Cox as my provider because when they switched from the @Home service they kept the speeds and the price the same. Even though they have increased their price it's still a good bargin for 3000/256 speeds at $40 a month if you have one of their other digital services. $50 if you just have the internet service.
