A friend has a MOBO and the keyboard circuit has gone south..

He's out of work and he's a beancounter..So this is his prime season for side money with Tax time..Question is can you use a USB keyboard to replace the ps/2 kb?

yes.
Also depends on the mobo if it supports usb legacy devices. I think.. not sure.. but I don't see why it shouldn't really.
but since he's counting beans and such... be safe and get a cheap ps2 keyboards. Not much difference anyways... don't wanna pay more for something that might not work.

some older mobos don't support USB Legacy Devices so that might be a prob you didn't give any info..

We tried a new ps/2 kb abd it didn't work..We think it's the KB port on the MOBO is blown..
