I just bought an ATI Radeon 7500VE, its a 64mb DDR version, but the performance really s**ks in counterstrike, it gives me like 20-30 fps. I have the latest (i think) catalyst 2.5 drivers, does anyone have any experience with this card? I used it on my 3rd rig, a pentium3 850. Even the 32mb DDR Geforce I am currently using gives a better performance...

The Radeon VE isnt much of a gaming card... in fact its not a gaming card at all. It's ment for more businessey type stuff... multitasking on multiple monitors, etc

damn! but with 64mb RAM you'd expect it to at least give a decent performance, even my old geforce pro 32mb hits 99fps and this card with twice the memory can't even do half? wth?

I just bought the same one myself. Hadnothing but trouble with it. Went back to my agp Voodoo 3 3000. No more radeon cards for this guy.

Spankpuppet does the voodoo3 3000 give you a better performance than the 7500? Cause I have an option of buying my friend's old Voodoo3 3000, then I'll ditch this crappy 7500...

Well, considering I could never get the 7500 to work right, yes.
But then again, I have always loved my voodoo card, and the graphics have been phenom!
Speaking from my own aggravating experience though, I would say toss the 7500 and go voodoo.
Check out voodoofiles.com for some great drivers and tweak tools
I've got the 7500 plugged inside my old Shuttle hot663 main board. It works, but not anything like the voodoo card. Iwas sorely unimpressed with ATI. No idea where I go cardwise when i bump my proc to the XP 2200, but it sure as hell aint gonna be no more ATI crap!

I just don't get it. I have had the 7500. 8500, and now the 9700. All great cards for there time. Before you dump the card go take a look at
http://www.rage3d.com/ and try tweaking or adjusting your settings properly. Then come back and tell me how bad ATI really is!

I believe a product should work correctly right out of the box. I never, NEVER, had to do anything to my voodoo card ever. I chose to add tweaks for my own liking. Not to make the thing work period!
The radeon 7500 64mb ddr I bought was a piece of junk period. Hell they didnt even send the right install directions. That was blatantly obvious when they showed on page 3 to connect a power supply to the card. HUH?
After carefully reviewing prices, performance etc, it appears I will bump to a geforce next, but then again, I was excited about the ati card too...
