Hi Randy

If a time arises to bear arms to defend Your Country, imho You Do So.

Many have sacrificed and died to allow us to live in Peace and enjoy raising Our Families without fear.

"Greater Love Hath No Man Than This,
That He Lay Down His Life For His Friends"

I could not morally allow another to do My Job, nor would i expect someone else to do so. Unfortunately it is the young that sacrifice the most. Simply natures Law. The Fittest do the fighting.

There are however many tasks that can be done by those who are no longer able to do the physical fighting. From administrative work to training of others. imho no one is exempt from protecting his neighbour.

No right thinking person wants a war, but sometimes it is necessary when it is the only way to protect ones ideals and the right to live in peace.

If there was a draft I definitely would go,

I would rather go to war and die, then ever be a draft dodger.

I am not in the greatest shape, but I am sure they would get me to become one...I have always wanted to be an air force pilot, who knows..

Then again I have a friend in the marines who cannot wait for the war to start. He told me, war is the only time you get to kill your enemy and become a hero, and not go to jail.

Everyone dies sometime. What does it really matter when you die.

I belive this debate is sparked somewhat by the belifes whether people are basically good or basically evil.

I belive that man is basically bad and is totaly self serving and that this is why we have wars hate and death in any form.

War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things: The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings, which thinks nothing (is) worth a war, is worse.
