Thanks for the info Ronny I thought the guy that told me that was full of shi..... crap

. I was gonna do it no matter what anyway, but now I know it doesn't seem to cause any problems I'll have to go back and inform him that there are people out there with tint on the rear defrost windows.

see u could put a mod chip in it without voiding the warranty, hyperlink` sells them a Co. outta Memphis Tn, or u could buy the code scanner they sell to program your original chip
a friend of mine bought a new muffler called the ravin'' bought it at Midas sounds sweet, htpp://
http://www.ravin.com i think, it plays the sound of each model muffler etc,
how about a cold cathode light under the hood with a mod window cut in the hood so u can see it?? j/k

And if I got a cobra and didn't do **** to it(cause then i wouldn't have the money to) it would be like every other person's cobra that owns one. No matter what parts you buy or what parts you get with you car another person has those same parts in thier car. But to have a unique look to your car and to have different combinations of mods makes the car your own and not just another mustang GT that "every other guy has". Good day to you.

dude..2002 or 2003..thats a YEAR diff. last time i looked...my dad got a new truck right when the 9-11 **** happened and the 0%APR came out..he got 5.5k less then the MSRP AND 0% APR...not i have asked many times about 0% and you have said nothing so that leads me to think u didnt get it...when i can go to the next can over and it is a year newer and i only get a discount of 4k im thinking ill get the 2003...how many times do u see a corba a day? i see one like 2-3 times a month..a real one that is...how many times u c a GT? about ever 2.5 seconds. why not get an older cobra and fix it up? it would start about the same as ur 02 GT and be a lot cheaper...my friend got a 1998 for 18k...and i bet it can run laps around ur gt..then you have all that money left to buy stuff to make ur car "unique"
btw when was the car made? you know how to tell?

Well to me man the car is brand new ok....if you buy a car from a dealer with 2 freaking miles on it the car is new lol.......anyone that says it is not must be smoking somthing. And as far as the financing goes 0% for 5 years...it'll be paid off in 1 year lol. And as for seeing a GT every 2.5 seconds you must meen seeing a V6 every 2.5 seconds. FORD sells MANY more V6's than they do GT's. As for getting an older Cobra....that was a possiblilty however....the 1998 cobra was listed as having 305 HP (and from what i heard it wasn't even getting 305 horses) Ford really struggled for a while with the cobras and prior to 99 I did not like the body styles of the mustangs, mainly the doors with the round look, looked kinda *****ish(sorry ford). The 99 mustang came out with the new (current) body style which IMO is awesome looking. Yeah your friends cobra is faster but it won't run laps around a current GT....unless he added some mods that thing is lucky if it is pumping out 300 horses....and while we are on bragging about friend's cars I bet my friends Pontiac transam limited edition from 1996 (400hp+) can run laps around your friend's 1998 cobra :-P hehe

miles does not make the age...i saw a 1965 Ferrari with only 5k miles on it..original..but it is NOT brand new...ok 0% for 5 years and u pay it off in 1 year....omg....how smart are u? u can put the money in the bank and make a little bit on it and pay no more in 5 years than in 1 or dont put the money in the bank and dont make anymore money and dont get the extra stuff u want and pay it off in 1 year....u not know that u make money if u put money in the bank? i know its not much but it is more then u are paying on the lone...0%...so u will ave more money if u pay it off in 5 not 1 year
did u see that minivan i posted awhile ago? HP means nothing..unless ur going stright for 1/4 mile..WOOHOO might as well watch NASCAR turn left and stop for the rain for 4 hours.
BTW Dale is dead...stop with the gay ass #3s on ur cars ppl! u didnt do that for anyone else that died like a president.....

pay the mim. payment for 5 years and put the 10k into stocks...they are soo low they have to go up...put it in home depot and i bet u will make over 20% in 5 years easy...then u can have another 2k to buy ur stuff like the erector-set spoiler and tailpipe from the 2002 bluebird...
Posted: Sat Sep 07, 2002 1:10 am

nah man I elect not to "rice" my car out with all those gay ass mods. bluebird tail pipes lol. The 1999 cobra was a BIF FLOP for FORD. I mean Christ they had a law suit filed against them for it.
If I wanted to buy the best performance car for my buck I'd buy the transam before i bomught the cobra

5.7 L sweeet cars, however I tend to like the body style of the "new" mustangs better...1998 and prior not my taste.

Yeah thats what I figure, but its fun shooting the bull with him lol. Al he can talk about is his friend's corbra, I'd like to know what kinda car he has. Probably a honda accord with fat tailpipes, tinted purple windows, fake me out rims from k-mart, and the biggest spoiler he could slap on the trunk. However there is nothing wrong with that car (in case anyone owns one just like it on theses boards

Anyone who invests a lot of money in their car when they are 17 is making a big mistake so I'm sure you have nothing to compare to.
I drive a '98 Chevrolet Malibu. It was only 8k so I did not take a loan and payed for it with the cash I had from working the last two summers. It will last me about six more years (be in med school then) but by then I will have enough money to buy a decent car that will last me until I place in a job and am working full time.
That is when a person should begin to invest in a car... not at 17.
BTW... I'm sure the Ghost SS wasn't bought when he was 17.

I've never done this before, but I'm giving you the

Oh, and one that you can't see, from DALE's family and friends, but rest assured, it's being given.

When you grow up enuff to get a job and mommy and daddy stop buying you hotwheels you may understand the concept of money.
And dream all you want about a Porche, cool car, what dreams are made of, but when the real world kicks in and YOU have to pay the bill you will understand that $10,000 aint chump change.
Now crawl back to the crib and mommy will be in with your bottle in a few minutes, oh and she will change your diaper if needed, but probably not as your so full of it the diaper is probably still clean.

LOL good one ghost, I'd do it if I could figure out how to link a picture on here. Anyway if I wanna pay off my payments in 1 year i will. Maybe I want the feeling of just knowing the finance institution doesn't own my car for the next five year. Besides if you knew any better you would realize that you don't get a whole lotta interest on putting money in a savings account and no I'm not investing in the stock market. What's it to you, this post is about modding a Mustang GT it's not about some little twirp kid coming on here talking smack about what to buy. First of all, learn to buy your own toys before trying to give people advice on purchasing cars. Unless mommy and daddy are rich you can keep dreaming about that 911 lol. With your type of attitude no place of bussiness will put up with you when you become an adult, you little piss ant.
Rant Over,
Mike

911's aren't as expensive as you'd think. They start at only about $65k. Maybe it's a bad dream if you're a computer programmer, but not if you're actually have high ambitions in life and can keep a job.
My advice: Be frugal.

Dude this was supposed to be a thread about modding a GT. Anyone can read the whole thread and see how it turned into this. You are why it turned into this. YOu got personal trying to down me for one for buying a GT lol. On top of that FOR NO REASON at all you start talking about a guy who died, pretty much making fun of his death. I am sure Kip doesn't need you to tell him how this thread came to this, he can just read it for himself. Maybe one day when you become an adult and have a car (match box/hotwheels/tyco not included) you can talk smack, but right now you acting like a young kid with a bad atitude who thinks he knows it all.(didn't we all at 17) BTW what does my age have to do with modding a mustang? LOL

No one is saying you are wrong. Still, what one wants to do with their money is their business...you gave your opinion several times...time to let it ride... On to better things. Do you have more tips that are in topic with this thread?

BTW I'm 23 not 17

. I have a job. And believe me just because one may have a job does not mean they have 10k just lying around heh. Bills and daily needs take up alot of the money one makes. Now back onto the original topic of the thread Borlas or Flowmaster. My understanding is flowmasters would sound much better on a stang, however borlas are better performance wise and also have a 1 million mile warranty. Seems the majority of stang owners go with flowmasters. What to do.

Well im from a family that dosent over exstend themselfs so i would go with the one that u can better afford. if one is twice as much then dont get it.

Well, yer original intentions were to seperate it from the pack. Borla in my mind carries alot more panache behind its name, and they have a nice growl to em. Don't they use a prancing horse logo akin to Ferrari's?
Posted: Mon Sep 09, 2002 7:37 pm
by MIKEJ@COMCAST
They are both in the same price range approx, so money need not apply here

. I think I will go with borlas though, I think they do use a prancin horse logo. I'm definately getting them welded on, I understand there is alot of advantages in getting them welded on. Next week it should be going to get some exterior detail work done. Going to get a red strip painted over the hood and scoop. Hopefully they will be able to place a mustang emblem down on the hood so I'll also have a black mustang running across the red stripe on my hood

Oh, and I forgot. The new "stangs REALLY REALLY look better with some snazzy rims. Remember to keep the weight down(unsprung weight) and fit some gumballs on there. Don't go the 18 inch route with ultra-low profile. Stick with stock, get a 50 or 45 series and spend some quality cash on the meats. The uber low profiles ride like crap, and get very squirelly at the limit. Now if yer a great, and I mean great driver, then they will be okay. The 50-45 series tire give a bit more waring when yer about to have a situation where the accelaration outweighs the grip(trust me on this one). I'm particuallry fond of Bridgestone Potenza S-03's. High dollar tire, but the difference it made on my car was night and day. Toyo makes an affordable tire that perfroms well. Dunlop Sp8000's are fun tires. Yokohama A008's are scary fun, but wet weather is NOT your friend. Lemme know what ya decide and I'll try and help.
