1969 1/2 Plymouth Roadrunner.
440 sixpack
no hubcaps
bench seat
4 speed
nothing but heat and AM
Looks like a grocery getter, but if you ever pull up next to one and you see that huge scoop and little Warner Brothers birdie, you had better flash a look of defeat and back off the pedal because this is 4000 pounds of pure muscle able to deplete fossil fuels at an astronomical rate!

European cars sure are sophisticated, but my needs are much less refined.
YoS says the Hemi 'Cuda. Excellent.
CoolJ of course mentions the Camaros, and who can argue with such a tradition of musclecars? Late 80's my fav, like the one he has.
Someone mentioned the '66 T-bird, that's a cool car. In fact every car mentioned I can see someone choosing, except the Honda (sorry SpeedMan), but then again I think he mentioned need and not want.

My favorite car of the ones I've actually driven would be the '94-'96 Impala SS. There's something about getting a car that weighs over 2 tons down the quarter in 10 seconds. It's not easy, but doable with the right mods, and you'll have a car that's totally streetable to boot! Like to go 0-60 in 3 seconds in a huge-ass car?

These have a history of ruling NASCAR for a time. Do you know what it is?

Heh, heh. It does give them a sporty look, if done tastefully, but c'mon, some of these guys put sh!t on there that's ridiculous.Originally posted by YARDofSTUF
Do u ever just wanna run up to a honda or whatever and start pushing it like a shopping cart when u see teh stupid spoilers on them?![]()
It's one thing if the car will have a trap speed of 130 at the end of the quarter, for additional stability, but otherwise it's just stupid.

plymouth superbird yes
yes. The wing is fully functional even on the production model, however it served no purpose as it would not go 225mph like the race version. It looked cool to some, but too radical for others. Dealers often found themselves removing the wing and nose cone to return the car back to a plain Roadrunner in order to get rid of them! I've heard stories of these parts in dumpsters behind the dealership. These are some of the rarest muscle cars ever.

Impressive performance numbers, to be sure, easily bested by American cars for a fraction of a fraction of the price. Top speed doesn't really impress me, since there's no place to achieve such speeds here in the US, except Bonneville, but acceleration can be used anywhere, baby!Originally posted by balakov10

At the prices given, those cars should go a gazillion m.p.h. and come with a beautiful woman who'll blow you while cruizin' the pike. Then again, if you can afford one of those cars, you'll probably have the woman thing covered, heh.
